A wide belt sander is a type of woodworking machine used for sanding large flat surfaces such as doors, tabletops, panels, and other similar workpieces. It is an essential tool in many woodworking shops, cabinet making factories, and furniture manufacturing facilities.
The wide belt sander consists of a motorized conveyor belt that moves the workpiece under a sanding head. The sanding head contains a wide abrasive belt, typically made of coated abrasive material such as aluminum oxide or silicon carbide. The belt is stretched tightly over two or more rollers and rotates in a continuous loop.
